A creditor with a judgment against you will contact your employer through the sheriff’s office and inform your employer that it has a judgment against you. The sheriff will then order your employer to pay a certain percent (normally no more than ten to 25 percent) of your gross or net salary to the creditor until the debt is paid off. You may also contact your sheriff’s office for local details, rules exceptions etc.
