I am paying for medical insurance at work, but when I went to use it, the company said they have never heard of me. What action can I take?

You should try to straighten out the situation with your employer and see if there is any explanation; if there is none, you should consider legal action against the employer for fraud and you should report the crime to local authorities as well as your state department of labor. Taking employee money for benefits and failing to pay or provide those benefits is a serious crime punishable in many cases by prison. Make sure however that there is no explanation and diligently try to resolve the issue first-it could be simple clerical error at either company.
