On March 1, 2003, INS enforcement and service functions and responsibilities transitioned into the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). INS customers are advised that all familiar immigration customer services have been retained through this transition. Service and benefit features of the main INS Website are available on the BCIS (Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration Services) Website. In addition, all INS enforcement-related information will be easily accessible from the BCIS and main DHS Websites.

Note: The Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration Services (BCIS) are now called the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) within the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
