Not all legal and financial transactions require lawyers and fancy contracts. Nolo Press’s 101 Law Forms for Personal Use offers – you guessed it – 101 standard legal forms for everything from estate planning to getting rid of pesky telemarketers.

Written by attorneys Robin Leonard and Ralph Warner with the assistance of Nolo Press’s editorial staff, these contracts are clear and well defined, written in simple, straightforward language.

Along with the forms, which come in tear-out sheets as well as on an accompanying Windows-compatible disk, each section also offers clear, step-by-step procedures that are associated with each event or transaction. For example, the section on estate planning also includes beneficiary worksheets, three different types of wills, and an explanation of what procedures must be carried out for your will to be legally valid.

Whether you are renting an apartment, selling your car, or simply working out a budget, 101 Law Forms for Personal Use will help ensure your transaction is simple, legal, and trouble-free.

About the Author

Ralph “Jake” Warner retired from day-to-day management of Nolo in 2004, after 32 years as president of the company. Widely regarded as a pioneer of the self-help law movement, Warner founded Nolo with Ed Sherman in 1972. He began publishing do-it-yourself law books written by him and his colleagues after numerous publishers rejected them. When personal computers came along, he added software to many Nolo books. When the Internet arrived, he pioneered online marketing of books.

In addition to running the company, Warner was an active editor and author. He wrote many books, including Get a Life: You Don’t Need a Million to Retire Well and How to Run a Thriving Business.

In guiding Nolo, perhaps the greatest challenge Warner faced was an attack by the Texas legal establishment in 1998. Texas lawyers tried to brand Nolo as practicing law without a license. The ensuing battle galvanized Nolo, whose final victory has become part of Nolo legend.

Attorney Robin Leonard has been featured as a money and credit advisor on Good Morning America and CNN, and in publications across the country, including Kiplinger’s Personal Finance Magazine, U.S. News & World Report, Money, Forbes and the Los Angeles Times. She is the author of many Nolo books including Money Troubles: Legal Strategies to Cope with Your Debts, Credit Repair, Take Control of Your Student Loan Debt, and Bankruptcy: Is It the Right Solution to Your Debt Problems? and co-author of How to File for Chapter 7 Bankruptcy and A Legal Guide for Lesbian and Gay Couples.
